Welcome to the Irish Hound Studios web site.
The name stems from a life long fascination with the
Great Hounds of Ireland.
When I started the 1858 project, I needed a limited
corporation and the "Irish Hound Studios" seemed like a great name. When I
finally get retired (if) I plan to take up photography more seriously and open a
small studio. The name
is a bit of a double
entendre, (without the risqué slant) since the 1858 Project has evolved into The River Park Place.
River Park Place will be a small center with several furnished
studio apartments available for weekly visits. We plan several larger apartments for
longer term rental as well as 3 store front retail units.
The primary goal of this site is to provide
information on the 1858 project, and the River
Park Place. I
will also publish many images
taken in the area and information about Guttenberg and the local north east Iowa
region. As you will see, this is one of the
prettiest places on the Mississippi, indeed, in the US.
